Mon, Oct 5, PM. I have been working from home since March and started off with using a Verizon Mifi device. The cost of that service was to high so I started exploring other options. I looked into and purchased a router through a company called gotW3. Everything worked fine for about 2 weeks and then I started getting error messages when trying to connect to the VPN. Please Wait After several weeks of troubleshooting and even receiving a new laptop I started looking into other options.
He came out to my house and performed the speed test and discussed the options. I have some days that I am able to connect to the VPN with no issues and some days that I end up having to go to my parents house to use their highspeed Comcast internet bc I cant get logged in at home.

Some of my users are having issues with VPN connections from home using Comcast internet with Comcast provided equipment. I've discovered that they are now setup up with This conflicts with our settings because we use the As you might expect, we're not going to change our IP scheme, so I've told them to contact Comcast and ask that the IP range be changed.
Why in the world are they configuring home user's equipment this way? Is there any way to change the IP settings without letting Comcast do it?
And this gets to be a gray area, but the user could login to their device and change the IP scheme. I say gray area, because the user will expect you to do that for them. I was about to post this as well. Some of my users had their VPN blocked at home, because the all in one unit Comcast supplies blocks it. I have had users purchase their own separate modem and router and that fixed the problem.
You may wish to do a search in the community. Not all of the modems that Comcast sells will support VPN and voice together. They are requiring people working from home to switch to business class to use these types of VPN haven't tested other protocolsnot sure if others are blocked or if other ISPs are rolling this out.
Mine dropped several times yesterday but it is because of a storm we had. Normally I VPN for most of the day to a system on the other side of the country and have had very little issue with it. Might be a regional thing. I have had experience with that. In order to perform those steps, you need to be connected to the user's home network, which I had done with showmypc.5 Best VPN Chrome Extensions: FAST \u0026 RELIABLE in 2020
I don't remember the exact steps I took but it wasn't too hard. I'll glance around google for a bit to see if I can find the instructions. I'm not offering to reconfigure their home routers as that would suddenly make me responsible for their entire internet experience at home. It's only been a few people so far, and no one has gotten back to me to let me know how Comcast is handling their requests. And we do have an alternate way for them to connect in, but they just don't like it.
It just makes no sense to me why Comcast or any ISP would configure home equipment this way in the first place.Last Updated 3 minutes ago: Comcast is an American telecommunications company that offers cable television, internet, telephone and wireless services to consumer under the Xfinity brand. I can't help the fact y'all not from "here" vs infinity Xfinity. Worst case you could connect to the airport over wifi, as it's likely better than the Comcast box. KingOnyx7 Krysiilys comcastcares My family got lucky, the only two satellite internet places in my area are rise broadbamd and a local company called CIP and lemme tell you CIP wouldnt even INSTALL a satellite till they were sure id get a good signal, and id rather pay the extra to have them than rise. Why does DoorDash screw me over constantly I've never had such a bad experience with a company before.
They are the Comcast of food delivery. If you have a router to connect, that might help, or ask to get it swapped. To troubleshoot: does it lose connection on wifi too and at the same interval? Clarify: does it lose connection to router or to internet? Wtf is hbo max i got regular hbo lmaoo. Comcast Xfinity comcastcares You guys have some of the shittiest internet out there. I want answers now. Absolutely the worst service, unexplainable fees and charges tacked on to your bill, constant service interruptions with no explanation as to why and ridiculous pricing.
Krysiilys comcastcares Its the reason im so glad our very rural area has two options and neither are comcast. Its predatory and disgusting. Gone down the drain since they were taken over! Hence the impartiality of reporting has since gone down the drain.
Sky news aus is owned by Murdoch and his crew and they produce a fox styled approach to reporting. Critiquing at every opportunity! Should never have switched to Comcast Ah, yes. I've been getting 30Mbps from Comcast Business for the past week despite paying for Mbps.
After they had an outage, my modem came back up with the wrong config or something. Power cycling my modem fixed it. Xfinity I am experiencing major problems with my set up at my home. I need a technician as soon as possible tomorrow please.
No landline, no cell, no internet, no email access. I am here 9am to 7pm, waiting. Do not wait to schedule mr one right away.
Please send. More in PM. My stupid roku tv decided to sign out of xfinity today. Check you internet speeds. Here is the problem I am running into and this is not the first time.
First I saw this on the Eastern and North sides of town. The problem I am about to describe fixes it self in about 1 to 2 months it seems. As of yesterday, my clients on the West side of town and in the foothills are having this problem. I have multiple clients at different businesses using VPN to access their offices when at home.
Out of no where, any client trying to connect to their respective office using Comcast Home internet cannot connect. They get an error. If they have Centurylink or say use a hotspot on their phone it works fine.
If I try to connect using my Business Class internet it works fine. Now to prove this, I took one of my wireless computers and put it on my Business class and tried the VPN. No problems. I then borrowed the wifi of my neighbor accross the street who I do IT work for and has Comcast Home internet service. I tested this and sure enough I cannot connect. Comcast is blocking something randomly on the Comcast Home internet service to keep people from connecting to VPN's.
Again, this has never been a problem with Comcast Business. I am getting no where with support and I am lucky if they even understand what I am saying. Comcast has done something, an update, Net Neutrality? I have proven that this is a thing and I need Comcast to step up and help or acknowledge what they have done. Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to us through our business forums. I can understand how important a VPN for business needs.
I connect through a VPN daily and I truly understand the impact that this can have. We do not directly support VPN access. I can advise that you should not have an issue on our residential connection vs our business connection. There may be something in the provisioning of the VPN directly that may be impacting the ability to connect.
I do connect through a business and residential VPN connection daily and have no issues. This should be working from your side in the same manner as well.
I am happy to review direct connections that are having issues with the connection if you can reach out through private message with the name on the account, service address and account number for each account that is impacted we can dig further into this. I am an IT consultant as well and I had this problem for a while, but it has gotten much worse in the last couple of month. Someone who has Comcast residential service at their home tries to establish a VPN connection to their office that has Comcast business - doesn't work.
They switch connection to their phone - works just fine. A little different twist than described here - for me it has not just been VPN, it seems when the problem happens residential cannot make any kind of connection to the business at all.
I can temporarily open a port on the firewall, verify that I can externally connect to it, and in every single case the affected client cannot. Usually the problem goes away in a day or two till the next time. Tried calling both residential and business support and they all claim they don't block anything.
Would really appreciate any advise what to do or what to look for. Hi there, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. You've reached the right place, and my goal is to change your experience. It took us several days to figure out how to use our VPN service for my wifes bakery.Sometimes it allows me to connect as soon as I reset the router but after that I can't connect again. I can connect fine with my verizon hotspot.
Please Help. I just started experiencing the exact same issue this week. I think the xFi stuff was pushed out over the weekend, since that's when I first noticed it, and I wasn't having any issues with my VPN last week working from home. Once it did, I couldn't reconnect. Restarting the PC did nothing, and at that point I couldn't even ping the VPN server, not even from another PC on my network, so something xFi presumably was blocking it from the time it would get disconnected.
Only thing that would fix it was restarting the modem, then immediately connecting until it happened again.
Would be nice if eventually Comcast can resolve this though, as I did seem to like some of the other features of xFi. Thanks EG for the suggestion. Ever since I got XFi advanced security enabled, I was not able to connect to my work network. I wasn't able to find anything in the log.
I have alternate network than xfinity and I was able to login to anyconnect with that network. Poor execution by xfinity on this part. Not sure how many other services are affected by xfi advanced security. Anyways, I have disabled it for now. Turn on suggestions. This made it easy for use to reach our excursions at the right times and directed us to great places for homemade ice-cream, lobster dinner, and scenic delights. I can't say enough good things about our experience with Nordic Visitor.
They thought of everything beforehand--as a result, I had a stress-free, fun-filled vacation with no negative surprises.
It was the perfect blend of independence, comforts through great accommodations in easy locations, and the help of getting to and from the airport was super. Just enough to take away the hassles and give me time to enjoy the location and adventure. Would not change a single thing. Our guide Christina was very knowledgable of culture and history.
Lots of old sagas. And we had non stop destinations of wonder Norway was simply spectacularly beautiful. Thank you for making our arrangements so easy. Sara was great to work with. The whole service was excellent.
Kolbrun kept us informed beforehand of the arrangements she was making and answered our queries promptly and clearly. All the timings and arrangements worked out with no complications leading to a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
We had a great holiday and we were delighted with all the arrangements that Nordic Visitor made for us which all went to plan. We had never heard of Nordic Visitor before we booked but found them on the Internet when we were researching holidays to Iceland.
We particularly liked the opportunity to contact our consultant on a toll free number in advance to discuss our requirements. The consultant was able to adapt the tour in the brochure to meet our needs and was very prompt in contacting us with a bespoke itinerary and a quote. We were very pleased with the documentation we received on arrival. The map of Iceland and the itinerary were particularly useful, especially with suggestions for activities.
We had said that we were interested in hiking and we were given ideas on potential areas to explore. Thank goodness for the phone that was provided. We had no bad experiences. Wonderful staff at all locations. We totally enjoyed our trip.
The map with all the details on it was so helpful. We espescially liked the extra comments like "great homemade ice cream" (it was great.
With all the information in our itinerary as well as the "Icelands Highlights" portion of the "book" we were able to see almost every item in them. We travelled with ease. We have already recommended Nordic Visitor to friends who are thinking of going to Iceland now that we have told them how beautiful it is. We did tell them "dress warm". We were not disappointed.
The hosts were all friendly, engaging, and a delight to talk with. The accommodations ranged from newly constructed to buildings more than 100 years old. Many buildings were re-purposed from their original use to accommodations for travellers which was rewarding to see. All the the accommodations were licenced which is a measure of ensured quality. All were clean, quiet and provided excellent breakfasts. The car rental was without hitches.
When booking the tour we upgraded the car from economy to compact (a Citroen Cactus) as from our driving experience in northern Canada we knew a larger car is better on some roads.
