Just a Dream Inwe did a week-long series on '60's Teen Idol Bobby Rydell Featuring a review of Bobby's new book An exclusive, brand new interview with the teen idol And a full page of comments and tributes You can check out the compelte recap below.
Bobby Rydell was born in Philadelphia in In case you don't know, Whiteman was the '20's most popular big band leader. Billed as "The King of Jazz," genial Paul racked up some hits between andthe most famous of which was "Rhapsody In Blue," which George Gershwin composed especially for Whiteman. There are so few people around today who worked with Whiteman so closely Whiteman died in We had a ball talking to Bobby Rydell last week about his new book I've been told by virtually every person who has ever come in contact with him that Bobby is one of the nicest, most down-to-earth guys in show business And, while you're waiting for it to come in, you can read all about it First of all, before we get started, let me just get a quick gush out of the way I want to tell you that I really loved the book I really enjoyed it.
You've already got book signings scheduled throughout November. So that's gotta feel pretty good … that there's that many people out there who want to hear you tell your story. If you look on Amazon and you look at the reviews, people who have bought the book are saying very nice things about it. Last time I looked there were 83 reviews posted and they're practically all five star reviews.
It's up to them … if they care about me and want to learn about my career, then they're going to buy it … there's really nothing I can do to get them to buy it. Others who may be discovering the "real Bobby" through our series are also apt to grab it as well. What would be the point of doing a big book-signing tour if not to bring people out to buy a copy of your book?!?!
Were you asked to write a book? Or is this something you've been wanting to do for a long time? And I had known Allan for years so it seemed like a natural way to get all this down.
I mean you were doing stand-up and impressions before you were even ten years old. Is this something that you just always knew you were going to do? Did you have this "bug" from as far back as you can remember? Is this something that has always been with you? Please log in, or sign up for a new account and purchase a subscription to continue reading.

Linda divorced her husband in and took her maiden name, Hoffman.
She eventually became known as Linda Hoffman 2. She also coordinates his website. Linda 2, now 62, began getting strange telephone calls. The two Lindas had crossed paths for 25 years. There were fans seeking a Bobby Rydell CD or autographed picture. Linda 2 first met Rydell on Halloween night on a blind date. There were approximately 20 guests at the Halloween party and during the dinner Rydell and Linda 2 went outside for a cigarette.
The main topic of conversation was Medicare. They were supposed to go out again on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Linda 2 returned from a family gathering for the date, but Rydell never showed or called. Despite the mix-up, the two continued to date and became engaged on Christmas They then exchanged vows in Las Vegas on Jan. Linda Hoffman 2 opted to keep her maiden name in order to avoid possible confusion with such things as social security.
Her decision necessitated the designations Linda 1 and Linda 2. Linda 1 got that designation because she had been with Rydell much longer than Linda 2. She had to adjust to being alone when Rydell did shows either with the Golden Boys, Frankie Avalon and Fabian, or as a solo act. An email has been sent to with a link to confirm list signup. Bobby and Linda 2 are living in the same house that Bobby had purchased for himself and his family as a year-old in Linda 2 also played a major role in helping Rydell survive his hour, double-transplant procedure on July 9, Linda 2 was present when Rydell did a show in New Brunswick, N.Bobby Rydell.Bobby Rydell \u0026 Dick Clark - NY at Night

REH Experience. We were at LaPiazza the night the Bbby Rydel was there for a book signing. As it was advertised. He was not there to sing, he signed his books, posed for pictures, chit chatted all night long. A very gracious addition to the night. We also had dinner there and had again, another wonderful waitress, great service and delicious food.
I don't think any thing could make you happy. Dinner was very quiet because we were so involved in our crabs and licking our fingers. Thank Joey M for always being a kind and caring host and for cooking and serving your delicious meals.
See you again tonight. We keep coming back for more. Thank you Karen I try so hard to please people and people take you down it's really upsetting some people just don't appreciate the effort you put into it but the old saying goes you can't please all the people all the time but we please you thank you very much Joey M.
Judging from the overwhelming favorable reviews of Joey M's La Piazza Restaurant in Wildwood, the comments by the person whose visit coincided with Bobby Rydell's Book Signing Event, appear grossly exaggerated. Our family has enjoyed dining at Joey M's La Piazza for years and, while, yes occasionally the service may be a little slow because the kitchen is busy we are always entertained by congenial and knowledgeable waitstaff or by Joey M himself who is always most accommodating.
We've never been disappointed in the food and some of his own creations are simply the best. As for her disappointment in Bobby Rydell not addressing the crowd, his appearance was for a book signing and not a performance. He was most gracious and cordial to all those, including, myself, who requested a photo-op without buying a book I already had one. He is a true gentleman and gifted entertainer. It's a shame mariefoodie did not take the time to introduce herself to Bobby before sharing her caustic remarks If you want a great Italian meal I'm talking about home-cooked Italian food Like Grandmom used to make on Sunday's after Mass.
I'm talking about Grandmom's kitchen, remember when they had kitchens in the basement I'm talking about a "real" Italian cook I'm talking about someone like me Joey M My husband and I went to LaPiazza last week and I have to say it was fantastic! My husband is still raving about his Chicken Parm which could have fed two people and my Filet Montello was excellent!! Our waiter Pasquale was the best If your lucky Joey M will sing a few Sinatra songs while you are having dinner.
I've been to La Piazza several times and never had a bad meal. The atmosphere and the entertainment is always enjoyable. Joey M and his staff go out of their way to make your visit a pleasurable one. Know the value of face-to-face communication. Very young children learn best through two-way communication. Engaging in back-and-forth "talk time" is critical for language development.
Conversations can be face-to-face or, if necessary, by video chat with a traveling parent or far-away grandparent. Research has shown that it's that "back-and-forth conversation" that improves language skillsmuch more so than "passive" listening or one-way interaction with a screen. Limit digital media for your youngest family members.
Avoid digital media for toddlers younger than 18 to 24 months other than video chatting. For children 18 to 24 months, watch digital media with them because they learn from watching and talking with you. Limit screen use for preschool children, ages 2 to 5, to just 1 hour a day of high-quality programing, and watch it with them so you can help them learn from what they're seeing.
Keep family mealtimes, other family and social gatherings, and children's bedrooms screen free. Turn off televisions that you aren't watching, because background TV can get in the way of face-to-face time with kids. Recharge devices overnightoutside your child's bedroom to help children avoid the temptation to use them when they should be sleeping. These changes encourage more family time, healthier eating habits, and better sleep, all critical for children's wellness.
Don't use technology as an emotional pacifier. Media can be very effective in keeping kids calm and quiet, but it should not be the only way they learn to calm down. Children need to be taught how to identify and handle strong emotions, come up with activities to manage boredom, or calm down through breathing, talking about ways to solve the problem, and finding other strategies for channeling emotions.
More than 80,000 apps are labeled as educational, but little research has demonstrated their actual quality. Products pitched as "interactive" should require more than "pushing and swiping. It's OK for your teen to be online. Online relationships are part of typical adolescent development. Social media can support teens as they explore and discover more about themselves and their place in the grown-up world.
Just be sure your teen is behaving appropriately in both the real and online worlds.
